Job Description:
As a key contributor in our global Supply Chain team, you will partner with our International facilities to develop and execute our product line sourcing strategies. You will also partner with the Manufacturing, Quality and R&D leaders to identify supply chain opportunities and execute business plans. Your primary focus will be to identify potential suppliers located in the Pacific Rim and leverage their skills and abilities to drive quality, productivity, and growth for Millipore.
The position will report into the Manager, Asia-Pacific Sourcing with a direct reporting line into the global supply chain group at our corporate office in Billerica, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
• Working with the Millipore manufacturing facilities, quality, and procurement teams to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with our global Supply Chain strategy.
• Seek, find, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers to meet Millipore’s global strategies and requirements.
• Utilize the skills and abilities of the global Supply Chain team to drive Millipore performance.
• Leverage the skills and abilities of Asia suppliers to drive quality, productivity, and growth for Millipore improving the supply chain in low cost country areas.
• Involve Asia suppliers in new product introductions, VA/VE, concurrent engineering and leverage the R&D capabilities of suppliers to continuously drive quality and productivity.
• Develop a robust supply chain of Asia suppliers via supplier assessment, supplier development, and supplier certification.
• Lead major projects and negotiate key contracts with measurable criteria by creating strategic partnerships with Asia suppliers.
• Assess the supply chain implications of Business Development opportunities; specifically in the areas of product availability (state-side stocking, consignment), transportation, and execution.
• Build and develop core competencies with Asia suppliers to safeguard intellectual property and ensure global regulatory compliance. Create and develop Supply Chain processes and structures that create competitive advantages for Millipore.
Requirements/Qualification
• BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in Low Cost Country Sourcing (LCCS), specifically in Asia.
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, development, relationships, and management.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills to be conducive with communicating in a global corporate environment.
• Position will be located at our Shanghai office, but reporting into global supply chain department.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Power Point).
• Excellent project management and facilitation skills.
