Scientist, Cell Biology/Bio-engineering

Responsibilities:
Initiate, plan and execute critical scientific research and development projects.
Developing enzyme reagents for the life science research, especially molecular biology research and cell biology.
Publish findings in the scientific literature and at conferences.
May act as a project leader with direct reports and may have full responsibility for completion of key parts of projects.
Requirements:
PhD degree in Cell Biology, Biophysics, Biological Engineering or a related discipline, 0-3 years of postdoctoral research experience. PhD candidate expecting to graduate 2009 spring is welcome to apply.
In-depth knowledge of the regulation of gene expression. Hands-on experience in eukaryotic systems such as yeast and mammalian cell is a must.
Demonstrated ability in molecular biology techniques including but not limited to: cloning, site-directed/random mutagenesis, DNA sequencing, and PCR etc. are essential.
Knowledge and experience in the purification and biochemical characterization of native and epitope-tagged proteins, using any and all relevant advanced methodologies is a plus.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Energetic, highly self-motivated and able to work efficiently and productively with minimal supervision and a very high level of independence .
Able and willing to learn and implement novel experimentation techniques.
Due to highly collaborative nature of position, interpersonal skills and communications skills will be extremely important.
