Description and emendation
Original Description
expand / minimize
The class Flavobacteriia is circumscribed for this volume on the basis of the phylogenetic analyses of the 16S rRNA sequences in contrast to the proposal by Cavalier-Smith (2002), which was based on a few basic morphological, chemotaxonomic and physiological features. This class includes only the order Flavobacteriales. The description of the class is the same as the order.
