- The Kazakhstan Bactrian camels are perennial grazing in desert and semi-desert area, mainly used as source of meat, milk, wool and leather. According to the Republic of Kazakhstan statistical yearbook, there are about 130,000 camels in Kazakhstan, including dromedaries, Bactrian camels and their hybrids. The Kazakhstan Bactrian camels are mainly distributed in south Kazakhstan province, west Kazakhstan province and Almaty province. During the long-term breeding process, the Kazakhstan camels are formed some local breeds to adapt to the local ecological environment, such as Kazakh Bactrian camel, Kalmyk Bactrian camel and Mongol Bactrian camel. In addition, the Kazakhstan dromedaries are from Arvana breed of Turkmenistan, which is the only dromedary breed in Kazakhstan.
