The family Tissierellaceae includes the genera Soehngenia and Tissierella. The belonging of the validated genera Sporanaerobacter, Tepidimicrobium and of the currently misclassified C. ultunense to this family has to been further investigated. As it was the first described, the type genus is the genus Tissierella.
