Original Description
expand / minimize
Cells are Gram-staining-negative, strictly aerobic, non-spore-forming, chemoheterotrophic and mesophilic, typically rod-shaped with rounded ends, non-flagellated and motile by means of gliding. Oxidase-positive and catalase-negative. Flexirubin-type pigments are absent. The major isoprenoid quinone is MK-6. Predominant fatty acids (>25% of the total) are iso-C15:0 and iso-C15:1 G. The polar lipid profile includes four unidentified lipids and two unidentified aminolipids in predominant amounts. Spermidine is the major polyamine. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 44.2 mol%.
