Cells are Gram-stain-negative, halophilic, facultatively anaerobic, oxidase-positivenegative, catalase-positive, non-flagellated rods that do not form endospores. The main respiratory quinone is MK-7. The major polar lipids include phosphatidylethanolamine and two unidentified lipids. The major cellular fatty acids are iso-C15:0 and iso-C15:1 G. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 39.6 mol%.
