Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, non-gliding, aerobic and rod-shaped. Catalase-positive and oxidase-negative. Carotenoids are found, while flexirubin-type pigments are not. Predominant cellular fatty acids are iso-C15:0 and iso-C17:0 3-OH. MK-6 is detected as the sole isoprenoid quinone. Major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine, an unidentified aminolipid and five unidentified lipids. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 35 mol%.
