Description and emendation
Original Description
expand / minimize
Cells are Gram-negative rods devoid of appendages. Yellow-orange-coloured colonies are formed on MA. Irregular aggregates are formed during growth in liquid medium. NaCl and oxygen are required for growth. Non-diffusible carotenoid pigments are produced. Catalase activity is present but oxidase activity is absent. The major respiratory quinone is MK-6 and the major fatty acids are iso-C15:1 and iso-C15:0. The DNA G+C ratio is approximately 60-67 mol%.
Emendation
Emendation 1
Emendation 2
1: The only polar lipid detected in the type strain of the type species is phosphatidylethanolamine.
2: Phosphatidylethanolamine is a characteristic polar lipid and some other unidentified amino lipids or unidentified lipid may be present. The range of mol% G+C of DNA is 52.7–66.5.
