Cells are Gram-stain-negative and rod-shaped. Growth of cells requires NaCl and oxygen. The dominant fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH and iso-C15:1 G. The major polar lipids comprise phosphatidylethanolamine and phospholipids. The quinone is MK-6. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 37.1 mol% (from the draft genome sequence).
