Cells are Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic and rod shaped. Major respiratory quinone is MK-6. The major fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH, iso-C16:0 3-OH, anteiso-C15:0, C18:0 3-OH and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c). Flexirubin-type pigment is not produced. Possesses phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol and diphosphatidylglycerol as major polar lipids. The G+C content of the genomic DNA of the type species is 44.8 mol%.
