Etymology
N.L. fem. n. <i>Geojedonia</i> named after Geojedo, an island located on the South Sea in South Korea, from where the organism was isolated.

Cells are aerobic, Gram-negative, non-flagellated, non-gliding and rod-shaped, coccoid or filamentous. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Nitrate reduction is negative. The predominant menaquinone is MK-6. The major fatty acids (>10% of the total fatty acids) are iso-C17:0 3-OH, iso-C15:1 G and iso-C15:0. The major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine and one unidentified lipid. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 35.7 mol%.
