Description and emendation
Original Description
expand / minimize
Cells are strictly aerobic, Gram staining-negative, yellow-pigmented, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Gliding motility is not observed. Oxidase- and catalase-positive. Cells produce non-diffusible carotenoid pigments but flexirubin-type pigments are absent. The major respiratory quinone is menaquinone-6. The cellular fatty acid composition is dominated by branched saturated, branched monounsaturated and hydroxy components.
Emendation
Emendation 1
Emendation 2
1: Phosphatidylethanolamine is the main polar lipid.
2: Oxidase and catalase reaction may vary. Cells produce carotenoid pigments or flexirubin-type pigments. The major polar lipids include phosphatidylethanolamine, three unidentified lipids and two unidentified aminolipids. The range of DNA G+C contents is 35.5–39.0 mol%.
