Cells are Gram-negative, aerobic, short-rod-shaped and motile by gliding. Orange colonies are formed on MA plates. Flexirubin pigments are formed. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. The major respiratory quinone is MK-6. The main fatty acids are iso-C15:1, iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH, iso-C16:0 3-OH, iso-C15:0 3-OH and iso-C16:0. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 38.6 mol% (HPLC).
