Cells are Gram-negative, non-motile, strictly aerobic rods. Carotenoid pigments are present, flexirubin-type pigments are absent. Chemoheterotrophic. NaCl is required for growth. Catalase-negative and oxidase-negative. The major fatty acids are iso-C15:0, anteiso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH and iso-C17:1 ω9c. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 40.1±0.5 mol%.

1: Catalase-positive and oxidase-positive. Nitrate reduction is variable. The common major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine and one unidentified lipid. The DNA G+C content is 37.2-40.1 mol%.
