Cells are strictly aerobic, Gram-staining-negative, non-spore-forming, rod-shaped and motile by gliding. Yellow colonies are formed on M2 plates. The major cellular fatty acids are straight-chain saturated, branched-chain saturated and unsaturated compounds. Oxidase- and catalase-positive. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 32.7 mol%.
