Description and emendation
Original Description
expand / minimize
Gram-negative, rod-shaped cells. Facultatively anaerobic. Cells can grow optimally over a mesophilic temperature range between 20 and 30°C. Seawater is required for growth. The fatty acid profile is characterized by large amounts of branched fatty acids. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 41 mol%.
Emendation
Emendation 1
Emendation 2
1: Facultatively anaerobic or strictly aerobic. Optimal growth occurs between 20 and 30°C or between 30 and 37°C. The fatty acid profile is characterized by large amounts of branched and straight-chain fatty acids. The DNA G+C content is 41-45 mol%.
2: The DNA G+C content is 41-51 mol%. The major isoprenoid quinone is MK-6.
