Strictly heterotrophic and aerobic. Oxidase-negative and catalase-positive. Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-spore-forming, non-motile rods. Contains MK-6 as the major respiratory quinone, and iso-C15:0, iso-C15:1 G and iso-C17:0 3-OH as the major fatty acids. The major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine and two unidentified lipids. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 36.6 mol%.
