Cells are Gram-reaction-negative, strictly aerobic, rod-shaped and non-gliding. Catalase-positive and oxidase-positive. Flexirubin-type pigments are produced. The major respiratory quinone is MK-6. The major polar lipid is phosphatidylethanolamine. The major fatty acids are iso-C15:0 and iso-C17:0 3-OH. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 38.2 mol%.
