Cells are Gram-reaction-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming, gliding rods. Catalase-positive and oxidase-negative. The polar lipids are phosphotidylethanolamine, two unidentified aminolipids, five unidentified phospholipids and three unidentified lipids. Major fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH, iso-C15:1 G, summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c/C16:1 ω6c), iso-C15:0 3-OH and C16:0; the respiratory quinones are MK-6 (major) and MK-7 (minor). The DNA G+C content of the type species is about 37.9 mol%.
