Cells are Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped, oxidase-positive and catalase-positive, yellow-pigmented, non-motile and aerobic. Flexirubin-type pigment is present. The major fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C15:1 G, iso-C17:0 3-OH, summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C15:0 2-OH) and iso-C15:0 3-OH. The predominant polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine, two unidentified aminophospholipids, two unidentified phospholipids and four unidentified lipids. MK-6 is the predominant respiratory quinone. The G+C content of the genomic DNA of the type species is 38.8 mol%.
