Forms non-motile, rod-shaped cells that stain Gram-negative. Endospores are not formed. Strictly aerobic, oxidase-positive and catalase-negative. Slightly thermophilic. Major fatty acids are C16:1 ω6c, C17:0 iso 3-OH and C15:0 iso; menaquinone 6 is the major respiratory quinone. The G+C content of the DNA of the type species is 42.8 mol%.
