General information
Description and emendation
Cells are Gram-negative, motile and rod-like in form with a length of 1.3-1.4 μm and width of 0.25 μm. Oxidase and catalase are produced. It is obligately aerobic and weakly halophilic. It has mesophilic characteristics for growth temperature and grows optimally at neutral pH. The dominant fatty acids are branched. The respiratory quinone is MK-5.
1: The G+C content of the DNA varies between 54 and 56 mol%. The predominant quinone is Q-10. The polar lipid profile consists of the major components phosphatidylglycerol and an unidentified glycolipid and trace amounts of three unidentified glycolipids. The major fatty acids are iso-C17:1 ω9c, iso-C15:0 and C16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C15:0 2-OH.
2: The major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine and unidentified glycolipids, aminophospholipids, aminolipids and lipids. The DNA G+C content is 50-58 mol%.
