Cells are Gram-reaction-negative, motile and non-spore-forming rods. Colonies are small, creamy and opaque, 1-2 mm in diameter after 3 days incubation at 30°C on MA. Aerobic, catalase-positive and oxidase-positive. Reduces nitrate to nitrite. Ubiquinone (Q-10) is the sole respiratory quinone. The polar lipid pattern comprises phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, an unidentified lipid, two unidentified phospholipids, two unidentified glycolipids and two unidentified aminolipids. The major cellular fatty acids are iso-C17:1 ω9c, iso-C17:0, C18:1 ω7c, C17:1 ω6c, and summed features 3, 4 and 7 The DNA G+C content of the type species is 60.3 mol%.
