Cells are Gram-negative, rod-shaped, motile by means of a single polar flagellum, non-spore-forming and facultatively anaerobic. Oxidase- and catalase-positive. The predominant quinone is Q-8. The major cellular fatty acids (>5%) are summed feature 3 (comprising C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c), C16:0, C12:0 and C18:1 ω7c. Phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidyldimethylethanolamine and several uncharacterized phospholipids and aminolipids are present in the polar lipid profile.
