Cells are rod-shaped. Cell wall of Gram-negative type. Thermophilic. Anaerobic. Neutrophilic. Do not form endospores. Chemolithoautotrophic growth by reduction or disproportionation of sulfur compounds. Member of the class Deltaproteobacteria.
