N.L. n. <i>pampa</i> (from Quechuan noun <i>pampa</i>), pampa; N.L. gen. n. <i>pampae</i>, of pampa, the grassland plains of temperate South America, especially Argentina, where the soil samples were obtained from which the type strain of the species was isolated.
