Cells are Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-flagellated, non-gliding and ovoid, rod-shaped or filamentous rod-shaped. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Nitrate reduction is positive. The predominant menaquinone is MK-6. The major fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH, iso-C15:1 G and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c). The major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine and one unidentified lipid. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 37 mol%.
