Etymology
L. gen. n. <i>insulae</i>, of an island, referring to the source of isolation of the type strain.
Ecology
Source
isolated from a tidal flat on Aphae island of the south-western sea, South Korea.
Morphology
Cells are non-flagellated, non-gliding and ovoid, rod-shaped or filamentous rod-shaped, approximately 0.2-0.6 µm in width and 0.3 - >10.0 µm in length. Colonies on MA are circular, slightly convex, smooth, glistening, strong yellow in colour and 1.0-2.0 mm in diameter after incubation for 3 days at 35°C.
