Cells are strictly aerobic, non-gliding, Gram-reaction-negative rods. Oxidase-negative and catalase-positive. Produces a non-diffusible carotenoid pigments (maximum absorptions:458 nm and 482 nm), but not flexirubin-type pigment. The major respiratory quinone is MK-6. The major cellular fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C15:1 G and iso-C17:0 3-OH.
