Description and emendation
Original Description
expand / minimize
Cells are Gram-reaction-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming and rod-shaped. Produce diffusible yellow pigments. Catalase-positive and oxidase-negative. Reduces nitrate to nitrite. Phospholipids are PE, two unidentified aminolipids and three unknown polar lipids. The predominant menaquinone is MK-6 and the major fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω6c/C16:1 ω7c). The DNA G+C content of the type species is 38.4 mol%.
Emendation
Emendation 1
1: Catalase and oxidase activities are variable among species. The major polar lipid is phosphatidylethanolamine, together with unidentified phospholipids or an unidentified amino lipid.
