Cells are rod-shaped, Gram-negative and strictly aerobic. Endospores are not formed. Catalase positive but oxidase-negative. Flexirubin-type pigments are absent. The major respiratory quinone is menaquinone 6 (MK-6). The predominant cellular fatty acids are iso-C16:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH and summed feature 3 as defined by the MIDI system (C16:1 ω7c and/or iso-C15:0 2-OH). The DNA G+C content of the type species is 31.2 mol%.
