Cells are rod-shaped, Gram stain-negative, and strictly aerobic. Endospores are not formed. Catalase-positive but oxidase-negative. Flexirubin-type pigments are absent. The major respiratory quinone is menaquinone 6 (MK-6). The predominant cellular fatty acids are iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 3-OH, and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c). The DNA G+C content of the type species is 30.8 mol%.
