Cells are rod-shaped, Gram-negative and strictly aerobic. Endospores are not formed. Catalase-positive and oxidase-positive. Flexirubin-type pigments are absent. The major respiratory quinone is menaquinone 7 (MK-7). The predominant cellular fatty acids are iso-C15:0 3-OH and summed feature 1 (iso-C15:1 H and/or C13:0 3-OH) as defined by the MIDI system. The DNA G+C content of the type species is 32.6 mol%.
