Etymology
L. fem. adj. <i>citrea</i>, pertaining to the lemon-tree, describing the lemon-yellow pigmentation.

Source
isolated from a yellow coloured marine sponge (Tethya sp.) collected at a rocky area in Nishikata beach, Kagoshima, Japan.
Morphology
Cells are non-endospore-forming, non-motile rods (0.4-0.5 × 2.0-2.5 µm), and lack flagella. Colonies grown on marine agar 2216 are circular and lemon-yellow pigmented after 3 days of incubation at 28°C. Colonies are lemon-yellow but become dark-yellow after 7 days of incubation.
