General information
Description and emendation
Colonies on nutrient agar are yellow after 3 days at 30°C. Cells are Gram-stain-negative, single rods and motile by a single polar flagellum. Cells are aerobic, catalase-positive and oxidase-positive, urease-positive, nitrate-reduction-positive, nitrite-reduction-negative, indole-formation-negative and do not ferment sugars. Q-8 is the major component of the quinone system and spermidine is the major polyamine. The cells consist mainly of branched fatty acids, with iso-C17:0, iso-C15:0, iso-C17:1 ω9c and/or 10-methyl C16:0 and iso-C11:0 as the major fatty acids. The main polar lipids of the cells are PME, DPG and PE. The genomic G+C content of the DNA is approximately 67 mol% (Tm) and 66.3 mol% (genome shotgun sequencing).
1: Cells contain mainly branched fatty acids, with iso-C15:0, iso-C16:0, iso-C17:0 and 10-methyl C16:0 and/or iso-C17:1 ω9c as the major fatty acids. The DNA G+C content is 66-67 mol%.
