Etymology
N.L. gen. n. <i>changwenlii</i>, of Changwen Li, a Chinese microbiologist, who first introduced modern molecular biology techniques to the Chinese traditional liquor fermenting industry.

isolated from freshwater in the Chishui River, China.
Morphology
Cells are non-gliding, strictly rods (0.5-0.6 × 1-2 µm). Colonies are non-pigmented, circular, smooth, shiny and 1-2 mm in diameter with regular margins.
