L. fem. adj. <i>anatina</i>, of or pertaining to the duck.
Ecology
Source
isolated from a Pekin duck in Germany.
Morphology
Cells are non-spore-forming, non-motile rods (0.2-0.4 × 1.25-2.5 µm). Some cells are spherically swollen, spindle or lemon-shaped and arranged in short chains. Strains produce flat-convex, circular and non-pigmented to whitish colonies with entire edges and a smooth surface on blood agar.
