Etymology
L. fem. gen. n. <i>algae</i> of an alga, pertaining to the source of isolation, brown algae.
Ecology
Source
isolated from brown alga (Fucus evanescens) samples collected in Kraternaya Bay, Kuril Islands, Pacific Ocean.
Morphology
Cells are rods (approx. 0.8-1.8 × 0.4-0.9 µm) with slightly irregular sides and pointed ends. Exhibits gliding motility. Colonies are circular, 1-3 mm in diameter, low-convex on solid media containing high nutrient concentrations. Colonies are light yellow in colour. Does not form endospores or resting stages.
