Etymology
L. neut. n. <i>sedimentum</i>, a settling, sediment; L. suffix -<i>cola</i> (from L. n. <i>incola</i>), dweller; N.L. masc. n. <i>sedimenticola</i>, sediment dweller.
Ecology
Source
isolated from a bottom sediment sample collected in the Gulf of Peter the Great, Sea of Japan.
Morphology
Cells are non-endospores-forming, non-motile rods (0.5-0.7 × 2-10 µm). On marine agar, colonies are 2-4mm in diameter, circular, shiny with entire edges, yellow pigmented and weakly sunken into agar.
