Etymology
N.L. fem. adj. <i>chrysea</i>, from Gr. adj. <i>chryseos</i>, golden, gold-coloured.
Ecology
Source
isolated from seawater in the coastal zone around a shipyard located in Otsuchi Bay, Iwate, Japan.
Morphology
Cells are curved rods (0.5-0.7 × 2.5-3.0 µm). Cells lack flagella and are non-motile. Gliding motility is not observed. Colonies grown on marine agar 2216 are circular and pale-yellow pigmented after 3 days of incubation at 30°C.
