| Conditions | Inflammatory bowel disease; Crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis |
| Interventions | participating IBD patients and controls will undergo inguinal lymph node biopsy sampling and blood sampling. In addition, in a subgroup of IBD patients requiring gastro-intestinal surgery with bowel resection, mesenteric lymph nodes will be obtained as well as Peyer patches, which will be collected from the resected intestinal segment. In addition, in the patients undergoing cholecystectomy mesenteric lymph nodes will be collected. |
