Group 1: Children and adolescent with suspicion of inflammatory bowel disease - and later histological confirmation. The investigations will be performed on tissue samples obtained during routine colonoscopies - no separate interventions for this study are necessary. mRNA expression levels of different BA transporters, detoxifying systems and nuclear receptors will be investigated in intestinal biopsy specimens from children suffering from inflammatory bowel disease. Group 2: Children and adolescent with suspicion of inflammatory bowel disease - without histological confirmation (normal histological result; control group). The investigations will be performed on tissue samples obtained during routine colonoscopies - no separate interventions for this study are necessary. mRNA expression levels of different BA transporters, detoxifying systems and nuclear receptors will be investigated in intestinal biopsy specimens from these children as control group. |
