Group 1: After patients suffering from Crohn's disease have been included in the study, they are asked to fill in a health questionnaire, which was designed by the researchers. Second, they are handed a computer-based version of the IBDQ-D (Janke et al. 2005), which measures contentment of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. In the following the patients voice is recorded while he/she speaks out 18 researcher-prepared sentences. A computer-based version of the personality questionnaire NEO-FFI (Borkenau & Ostendorf, 1993) is then handed to the patients. Finally a three-minute standard 12 lead ECG is recorded. After the patient has been payed, the experimental session ends. The experiment is completely noninvasive, there are no medicines applied and no additional risks are caused for the patient. Group 2: Healthy control subjects: The entire experimental process is identical for patients and healthy controls. |
