| Title: | Is predisposition to NAFLD and obesity communicable? |
| Abstract: | A forthcoming article in Nature reveals that inflammasome deficiency disturbs gut microbiota and predisposes to diet-induced obesity and liver disease. The aberrant microbiota and its consequences could be transferred by cohousing mutant and wild-type mice, suggesting that some aspects of metabolic syndrome can be communicable (Henao-Mejia et al., 2012). |
